Dear Godbrothers/sisters,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
All glories to our most beloved Guru Maharaja!
It was the second time that Guru Maharaja attended Annual Festival at Ahmedabad. As a part of the festival we went to Harinam in the crowdest area of the city along with all the devotees came from Vrindavana, Baroda, Surat etc for the festival. It was wonderful experience that thousands of people benefited by Harinam for 2 hours. More than 50 devotees were leaded by HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja, HG Basughosh Prabhu and HG Jasomatinandan Prabhu.
The next day, 9 April was Rathayatra. By Krsna's arrangement, our most beloved Guru Maharaja appeared in Ahmedabad just before few hours from Rathayatra begins. As soon as he came, he went for one hour walk. The temperature was drying away everything. Due to extreme heat, Rathayatra was started on 5:00 in evening. Guru Maharaja led very ecstatic kirtan many times during Rathayatra. Rathayatra reached the temple on 11:00 at night.
>From 10 to 13 April everyday evening we had Pandal Programme. On the next day, 10 April, Guru Maharaja led Guru-puja and gave illuminating class on Srimad Bhagavatam 11.3.23:
sarvato manaso 'sangam
adau sangam ca sadhusu
dayam maitrim prasrayam ca
bhutesv addha yathocitam
"A sincere disciple should learn to dissociate the mind from everything material and positively cultivate association with his spiritual master and other saintly devotees. He should be merciful to those in an inferior position to him, cultivate friendship with those on an equal level and meekly serve those in a higher spiritual position. Thus he should learn to deal properly with all living beings."
He started from the first line of the text with sarvato manaso 'sangam. "If you desire to advance in Krishna Consciousness, you should first of all dissociate your mind from everything material. You wouldn't be happy, even if you go to heaven and get the heavenly pleasure of wine and women. In other words, one should not be attracted from the opposite sex. Thus one can become sincere disciple by cultivating faith and devotion unto Guru."
Then he explained different duties of the devotees on different position. "A devotee should be merciful to those in an inferior position to him. One should not avoid someone who is in inferior position saying, 'oh, he is fool, reject him.' Rather, one should be merciful to him by giving him transcendental knowledge. One should cultivate friendship with those on an equal level. In material world, everyone tries to show that he is the most intelligent and all are fools. But one should not apply this tendency to the devotees. A devotee should avoid this thinking of "oh, I'm more intelligent than you and how fool you are," among the equals. Rather he should cultivate friendship with those on an equal level. And for higher position, one should meekly serve those in a higher spiritual position. Thus he should learn to deal properly with all living beings." I have just mentioned the main points of the lecture.
Guru Maharaja did his puja after giving class. Then he went for his one hour walk on 11:45am. He allowed devotees to come to his room for one hour. He took launch with Jasomatinandan Prabhu on 2:30pm. Then he kindly went to his disciples' houses.
It was the first day of 4 days Pandal Programme. HH Mahavishnu Maharaja (Dwarka) came from Rajkot. Guru Maharaja started the programme with his wonderful speech describing different pastimes of Lord Rama. Then HH Mahavishnu Swami and HH Bhakti Vikasa Swami gave their speech on Rama-Lila.
Then Guru Maharaja allowed everyone to come to his room for personal meeting. He allowed devotees to meet him till midnight, although he had to get up very early on 2:30am for his puja. The next day was Ramanavami, appearance day of Lord Rama. He performed Mangala arati in Sitarama alter. He had to leave by 6:30am to catch the flight for Delhi. All devotees were waiting to see off Guru Maharaja and offer their obeisances. Guru Maharaja came down from his room, glanced at everyone mercifully, gave short instruction to everyone and was ready to leave for the airport. It was the loving exchange between Disciples and Guru. Then everyone celebrated Ramanavami Festival with the charged battery.
In this way, Guru Maharaja blessed all the disciples in Ahmedabad. It was like a raining in the dry desert. His presence and guidance was very much required to the disciples in Ahmedabad.
I'm attaching pictures.
